1. Junior Executive – HR (Freshers)

Pay Scale: Rs. 30,000 – 1,20,000

3-year full-time BBA / BBA (Honours) / BMS with HR Specialization

Retention Amount – Detailed Explanation

HPCL follows a structured Retention Amount Policy during the probation period.

For the first 12 months (probation period), a fixed amount will be deducted every month from the total emoluments of the selected candidates. This amount is retained by the company as a commitment mechanism.

Monthly Retention Deduction Structure:

For Officers recruited in Pay Scales:

  • Rs. 30,000 – 1,20,000

  • Rs. 40,000 – 1,40,000

👉 Retention Deduction: Rs. 5,000 per month
👉 Duration: First 12 months
👉 Total Retention Amount: Rs. 60,000


For Officers recruited in Pay Scales:

  • Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000

  • Rs. 60,000 – 1,80,000

  • Rs. 70,000 – 2,00,000

  • Rs. 80,000 – 2,20,000

  • Rs. 90,000 – 2,40,000

👉 Retention Deduction: Rs. 8,000 per month
👉 Duration: First 12 months
👉 Total Retention Amount: Rs. 96,000


Important Clarification:

  • The retention amount is deducted only during the first 12 months of probation.

  • This amount is linked to the mandatory service commitment.

  • If the officer leaves before completing the prescribed service period, the retention amount may be forfeited as per company rules.

  • If the officer successfully completes the required service obligation, the amount is handled as per HPCL policy terms.

Service Bond

Selected candidates must serve HPCL for a minimum period of 3 years from the date of joining.

If a candidate resigns before completing the mandatory service period, applicable retention and bond conditions will apply as per the agreement executed at the time of joining.
