Role Overview: Lead – Human Resources Suzlon

The Lead – Human Resources Suzlon (OMS Division) will act as a strategic business partner for state operations. This role involves managing talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, HR operations, statutory compliance, labour law management, and HR analytics. The position requires leadership maturity, strong HR knowledge, and the ability to lead HR for a large, field-intensive workforce.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic HR Leadership

The role demands a strong understanding of organizational goals and the ability to develop HR interventions aligned with business priorities.
Key functions include:

  • Designing and driving HR strategies aligned with Suzlon’s business vision.

  • Advising the leadership team on workforce planning, change management, and organizational development.

  • Leading HR transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and employee experience.


2. HR Operations & HR Systems

A major part of the role is ensuring smooth HR operations across the employee life cycle.
Responsibilities include:

  • Managing onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and exit processes.

  • Monitoring SOPs to maintain consistency, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Ensuring data integrity across all HR systems and HRIS dashboards.

  • Driving automation and digital HR adoption at the state level.


3. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

Recruitment excellence is a core priority in Suzlon’s OMS operations. The HR Lead will:

  • Lead end-to-end hiring across technical and support functions.

  • Conduct campus hiring, walk-ins, and regional recruitment drives.

  • Build a strong talent pipeline and succession planning framework.

  • Strengthen employer branding for Suzlon at regional and state levels.


4. Employee Engagement & Culture Building

A positive workplace culture enhances productivity, retention, and employee morale.
This role will:

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and wellness activities.

  • Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and action plans.

  • Build communication channels for transparent, inclusive, and high-performance culture.

  • Promote diversity and inclusion across Suzlon’s state operations.


5. Performance Management & Capability Development

To support Suzlon’s growth, performance alignment is crucial.
Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the annual performance appraisal process.

  • Ensure goal-setting, mid-term reviews, and final evaluations are timely and structured.

  • Identify capability gaps and coordinate learning & development interventions.

  • Support managers with coaching, feedback, and team development techniques.


6. Statutory Compliance & Labour Law

Given Suzlon’s large workforce footprint, statutory compliance is critical.
The HR Lead must ensure:

  • Compliance with all state and central labour laws.

  • Timely submission of statutory returns, registers, and audit documentation.

  • Liaison with labour authorities and support during inspections.

  • Effective grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and IR coordination.

7. Compensation, Benefits & HR Analytics

The role requires sound financial and analytical skills to support the business.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Master’s in HR & IR, MSW, MBA (HR), or equivalent postgraduate degree.

Experience

  • 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Experience in industrial HR, operations-heavy environments, or large workforce management.
